There are several places where you will find articles about homelessness (or whatever topic you are interested in, e.g., small business, violence or gun control, crime, etc.)

Narrow Your Topic: If your topic is broad, like homelessness, you will need to focus it a little bit more. You can focus on who is affected (men, women, children), where it's happening (urban places vs. rural), why (think of reasons for homelessness - unemployment, mental health, etc). These are just a few suggestions on how to narrow a topic.

To get journal articles:

  1. Go to the Tri-C Library English Research Guide.
  2. Select the link to the Academic Search Complete database.
  3. Type in keywords of your topic (example: homelessness AND women).
  4. Limit your results to Full Text and scholarly peer-reviewed journals.

NOTE: Another good database in the English Research guide to use as a starting point for research is Opposing Viewpoints in Context. If you don't find what you need, please contact a librarian for assistance.
